Ex-FT Island singer Choi Jong-hoon makes an attempt comeback after group sexual assault scandal

Choi Jong-hoon, beforehand a member of the South Korean band FT Island, has initiated a comeback by launching his personal channel, HUNIYA, on Japan’s Fanicon platform after a five-year hiatus.

In a message to his followers, Choi mentioned: “It has been about 5 years since I greeted you all…I am excited to attach by HUNIYA. I need to present you all the pieces about me, akin to what I need to do any further and my private life.”

Fanicon, a web-based platform that expenses a 5,000 KRW (roughly $4) subscription payment, permits followers to work together with celebrities. Choi’s resolution to hitch Fanicon has generated combined reactions, with many believing that he shouldn’t return to the general public eye following the scandal.

Choi was launched on parole in November 2021. He was arrested in 2019 on allegations of secretly filming and sexually assaulting girls. Publish-release, he faces a five-year restriction from working with minors.

His profession took a downturn in 2019 following revelations about his participation in a chat group with different celebrities, together with singers Jung Joon-young and Seungri. This chat group was notorious for sharing illicit sexual content material, together with non-consensually taken photographs and movies.

That yr, seven girls accused Choi and others within the group of rape. He obtained a jail sentence of two years and 6 months, whereas Jung Joon-young confronted an extended sentence of 5 years.
