Bach Tuyet, 78, an artist of the Vietnamese folks music style cai luong (reformed theater), has been honored on Forbes’ “50 Over 50: Asia 2024” listing of influential Asia-Pacific ladies.

The listing, unveiled on Wednesday, introduces Bach Tuyet as a “family staple” in Vietnam for her contributions to cai luong and her modern collaborations with trendy artwork types like hip-hop.
Delighted by this honor, Bach Tuyet remembers her mom’s recommendation to guide a life helpful to others.
“At this age, I understand the impermanence of life, of how issues come and go,” she added. “However I’m lucky to nonetheless have cai luong to joyfully reside and work.”
Born Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet in An Giang province within the Mekong Delta, the veteran artist debuted on stage in 1962. She earned a gold medal for promising expertise on the prestigious Thanh Tam Award for cai luong artists a yr later. She achieved a Ph.D. in Artwork in 1995.
